    Just Got My 9262!!!!

    At LONG LAST, my 9262 is in my hands! Oh my GOD it is great. Finally.

    There is a problem. I was informed, by someone who apparently knew better, to get Vista Business. I did not really care, I didn't know the difference. I also ordered the Cyberlink MPC788 TV Tuner.

    The problem: The MPC788 requires a version of Windows Media Player used in Vista Home and Ultimate, NOT the version in Business. PLEASE HELP! Can I find the other Media Player? or did I dump $90 down a hole?

    Do you mean Vista Media Center? If you do, then you need a different version of the OS. Sorry :(

    Yeah that's it. What should I do? I don't feel like dropping money to upgrade to ultimate, since this is really the only functionality issue I think I'll have with Vista business...

    I cant comment on what else to do as it seems that upgrading is your only choice. But, I would like to ask when you ordered your 9262. I am still awaiting mine :(

    There are free open source Media Centers that are better than the Windows version.

    well, the tv tuner option should not have been available to you (should have been greyed out, IMO) if you selected an incompatible OS. see if your reseller can swap out the OS for you if you send the original OS cd back to them.

    Will do, not that big of a deal for me, my tv sits 3 inches to my left and I knew it wouldn't work with xp pro when I bought it.

    you do have the 30 day money back no questions, return it and get what you want. Since you activated vista I'm not sure if they will be willing to trade OS.

    Any activated software will not be refunded if you are returning the system.

    But if you doing an exchange, they will transfer the activated license to the next unit that you are exchanging to.
