Alright I just got mine, and it seems there are two latches(??) on both sides, and one on the right works fine but the other I have to slide it manually to open it, does that make sense? is that how it's suppose to be or is this defective, I noticed that if you slide it to right its locked, and if its slide to left its open, so I assume that this is normal. well i hope its normal.

Left is a lock. Right is a latch to keep the lid closed. Nothing is broken that is the was it was designed.

It's more of a safety measure from what I can gather. It's definitely more secure than having a single latch in the middle as most notebooks do.

contact your Sager vendor, they should replace your unit for you. The Sager TOTAL SATISFACTION guarantee should cover it.
