congrats... although I would go for a Q6600 instead of the E6850.... since they go for the same price.

The quad-core will give you more overall performance if you are going to do any audio/video editing or converting... as well as help for the new games that are multi-thread supported (like Bioshock, UT3, etc..)

There's a promotion right now, the upgrade to 4 gigs of ram is quite cheap, I would highly suggest getting that.

Quad core is also a good suggestion I think.

I'm awaiting mine, very exciting :)

The E6850 runs a lot faster than the Q6600 for most mainstream apps. So good decision. Get this 4 gig and did you consider Vista Ultimate x64?

Nice... but... why took the 9262 if your not going SLI and no quadcore?

i took it so that way later down the line i could purchase the second gpu when prices drop a little. i figured they would probably drop down at least a hundred at the minimum by the time i want to updgrade so...

im going to be doing a lot of gaming but nothing on newer platforms
its going to be mostly half life mods, counter strike source...things like that...and after doing research on the quad core i found most of the things im going to be doing arnt supported by that.

and yes i did look at the 4gig of ram option but iwanted to stick with xp...i have vista on another computer and i hate it...so unless i change my mind about the OS 2gig of ram it is for a while

Why get an OS at all. Don't you already have an XP-SP2 pirate CD like everyone else?
