740 cpu, 5870 gpu, 4 gb 1333 ram, ic diamond paste, bd-rom. I'll be swapping out the 7200 rpm drive this comes with with a Corsair Force 240gb ssd.

So first question is: can I just backup the OS drive it comes with and then restore it to the ssd I install? Or should I do a clean install of Win7? What settings do I need to be mindful of if I'm using an ssd for boot drive? I've heard debate about the page file for example, but then I've also heard with TRIM you just let Windows do whatever.

I won't do any sort of advanced benches since guys like Moo already have. But just to reassure myself that everything is as is, what are the basic benches I should run?

For testing, I'll play back a bluray, burn a disc, connect all the ports, check to see the battery dis/charges. Anything here beyond the basic?

Am I ok just dl'ing the latest of all drivers, or are there some where I should stick with an older version? Do I get vid drivers off ATI or is this a customized chip where I need to go to Sager?

Evidently so lol given the epic thread fail. I thought I'd ask here to get input from 8760 owners on the off hand there's specific things to look for with this model. Thanks anyway though.
