thanks to a fellow board member. this is for the wife's toshiba since her t7300 bit the dust (im not sure how to be honest). her t7300 is on its way back to intel for warranty. i tried another t7500 in her system and it worked fine so i know for sure its the cpu.. anyway......
since i had my 579x open anyway (looking at the audio jacks) i decided to throw it in there before reassembling her whole toshiba since to swap the cpu in that thing the mobo and all has to come out..![]()
i was checking the temps with realtemp (great new program and works MUCH MORE ACCURATE FOR PENRYN'S) http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
and im seeing about 31-32 per core at idle and up to 62 with occt running after nearly an hour time the high peaked at 65 for a split second but went back to 62 and stayed there almost the whole test..
can anyone else confirm these temps with the t9300... just curious
-
those temps are fine and normal.
-
Jup, those temps are good!
-
those look nice, would you just post roughly the temps you got with your X9000 if you still remember them roughly, and if OCed or not OCed?
-
sorry falcon i totally forgot to check them.. i apologize. ill be putting it back in there later today. ill check for you then..
imo unless you are benching it there is NO DIFFERENCE between this and the x9000... -
Mine idles at about 31c and doesn't seem to go much over 40c, this is with Arctic Silver 5.
-
no probs zfactor hehe
thanks for checking
OCCT gets my X9000 up to 76C stock speed. But then again that program is designed to heat it up bigtime right? Do you think thats too hot?
Also, does the X9000, since its faster also come with a higher max temperature tolerance?
thanks -
Anything below 70C should be ok ...Maybe AS5 is not applied onto your CPU, it might be a good idea to get some.
If by some reason it goes beyond that, you can consider Undervolting, but it`s trial and error until you can both OC to 3.2 and have a lower voltage.
However,it`s a stress test,so it shouldn`t be a decisive factor all in itself. -
I always monitor my temps, and when gaming the CPU never gets above 65C. Ive never done AS5 application before, and I dont know if its already applied.. it might be.
Should I just leave it the way it is? Ive tried undervolting, doesnt go well on my CPU. Couldnt even get 0.1V off the highest multiplier without errors.
Ah well, gotta see what other people's temps with this processor are, who have applied AS5 -

no worries until you break 70-75. keep on truckin.
-
These processors are rated up to like 100C, so no worries till you hit 90...

OK, Tj max for all 7 series core2's is 100C and for all 45nm cores is 105C.
This however is the max temperature that the ACTUAL CORE transistor junctions are rated to so may possibly be higher than what is being read by the sensors.
This is from the datasheets freely available (though not necessarily so easy to find) from the intel website -
if im correct thats actualy 10deg higher than what they are actually rated for.. i am almost positive the 45nm are rated to 95deg (i could be wrong though but this is the info i was given from a normally reputable source)
