is it possible that xoticpc or powernotebooks will have sales this upcoming weekend? That would be great...although I'm not sure if they ever really have those kind of sales on laptops

I wouldn't expect it - we resellers have quite the low profit margin. I could be wrong, though!
-
Bestbuy will have fx7811 for 1250$ which a killer deal

Yea I was considering that...I just hate the design for some reason, what with the ridiculous gears of war sticker and the giant "fx" on the back.
Honestly all this talk about the np8660's heating problems is pretty discouraging. I'm seriously thinking about settling for a 9600 and getting an HP dv5t or a Sager 2092 if I don't start seeing a somewhat steady stream of good reports on the 8660. -
its only discouraging to those that think the palm rest is too hot... which has not been everyone.
-
Or hp dv7t with gpu 9600gt ...under 1000$!!!
No bugs reported! -
i think PCMicroWorks has a labor day sale, or i could be wrong
-
They probably will. And I've had no issues with their m860tu. *hint* *hint*
-
How do you know that the 7811 will be on sale? Bestbuy.com still listing it for $1450.
-
It is in the newest printed BestBuy ad. It will go for $1250+you will get a Free PC game (max value $49.99)!
-
Hmmm, for that price, it's really hard to beat. But the deal breaker for me has always been the 17" screen, if it hadn't been, I would have cancelled my 8660 and bought a 7811 when I first saw it announced.

the only thing that makes me hesitant to get a 9600 is that I'm not sure how well it will handle Fallout 3
-
It would be crazy thing to get a laptop with 9600M GT
If you don't have that much of cash for a Sager np5796 (or other) laptop with 9800M GT, than go for the Gateway P-7811FX...9800M GTS is nice for Fallout 3 and the laptop is cheap.
-
wow, you have to wonder how gateway are making a profit on this
-
They have basically no customer service and they have reused the same laptop chasis in the last 3 17" fx laptops. Plus they probabally got some deal with nvidia on the 9800GTS.

I may go for the 7811 despite the fact that it's a Gateway with possible stability issues...1250 is almost too good to pass up
-
Ya, I was looking at the 7811 deal even with the stability issues(people have posted that exchanging for new ones worked, they got working comps after the excange), but I decided against it due to it being a 17" and I don't want something that big atm plus I have my ps3 to game on atm, for what little time I have to game now adays. Work takes too much gaming time away(I miss the days in college where you had so much free time).
Plus If I ever decide to get into some heavy computer gaming, I will just build a new desktop to replace this old POS desktop, its an athlon 2100+ with a geforce 4 TI4400. Yes, it really is a POS but it still runs fine for being 5+ years old. -
Almost regret getting my 2096...but i don't game much and i got a better processor and I know that i get much better support and build quality with my sager
labor day sale?
