Yay here it comes!! After such a long wait time!!

I’ve already bought a notebook cooler (zm nc-2000) a few days before XoticPC shipped out my order :)

    Slowly.. careful..

    Quite comfy packaging :)

Look at the difference in SIZE!! OMG.. (power too!!)

This is FATTT too.. oh well.. enough space for 3 HDD at least..

I’m already drooling here and my camera’s running out of battery..

    1st sneak peak!!

Here’s the keyboard/palm rest area in comparison to my PHONE. Yes, its a handphone.

The contrast, again, between the 9262 and my old 15” lappy.

No idea why it started off like this.. =/ kinda puzzles me.. i hope there’s nothing wrong..

    Booting from vista x64..

    Some more Booting Pics..

Alright.. so that’s all for pics. I din’t take the pics of the side/front/back of this notebook because they can be found in alot of websites already, and with labelling.. so, i figured that this would be sufficient..

I’d post the 3D scores thing when i’m done running the benchmarks..

    Proud to be a owner of a D901C / 9262!!

    Special Thanks to:
Justin W & Brad M of XoticPC for answering my questions through email/livehelp.
NBR forumers for providing important feedback, advisory and personal opinion, which greatly assisted me in the selection of parts in this beast, and also cancelling my m15x order to get a 9262!!

P.S. Add me into the D901C Owner's List!! I'm so proud to be part of the family! Will be assisting where ever i can :)

thx.. waiting to hear from you guys..

    EDIT!!

my core temps are 58C(136F) and 64C(147F) (core2duo)
my GPU Temp is at 72C (161F)

I believe your 3Dmarks are actually right on cue, and your total added together is 9426, which seems about right considering your rig isn't SLIed. I would try a few high end games and see how they play, if I were you.

Also, that high score of 32k is probably either by a cheater or someone who has setup a very, very, very expensive and unorthodox DESKTOP rig.

That Vantage score of 32k is most likely with a Tri-SLi setup, alongside GPU PhysX and perhaps running on Skulltrail. While 3dMark scores are fun, what it really comes down to is how games perform, and the NP9262 makes them perform well :D

hey leon. i suggest you get new drivers from laptopvideo2go as your 3dmark vantage scores are a little bit low. (the ones with the P valvue however your 3dmark 06 score is probably on the mark. but it could be better.

also when running your benchmarks turn off all unnecessary process running in the background.

hi dazzyd, thx for your reply. what's the difference between the vantage scores and the 3dmark 06 score? could you link me to a website where i can get my rig tested for these benchmarks? thanks..

oh and i was multi-tasking while benchmarking actually =/

and could you recommend which drivers to get from latopvideo2go? i'm quite lost when it comes to selecting drivers and installing them.. thanks.

    3d mark 06 test your DX9 capabilities.

go here to get the latest drivers from laptop video2go http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19660

You should install the 175.95 drivers from Sager which are explicitly for the NP9262 (unless they're already on).

there are 2 programs you can use to check.

    1. Rivatuner 2.09

    2 GPU-Z.

the 3rd option is right click on your desktop and click the nvidia properties. then look at system properties

Out of curiosity, why would a 16 year old need a 9262 in Singapore? Wouldn't a desktop suffice?

That's not true. If your job requires heavy computing and graphic processing power, yet a modicum of portability, the 9262 might be a good choice. While not quite a need, it might be a necessity for some.

hi.. thanks for the replies.. the driver version i'm using now is 176.02.. wonder if that is any good..

well, yeah i'm a 16 year old in singapore.. used to have a gaming desktop which sufficed, but it got confiscated in june and i can't do without it! so i just had to get the 9262 when i saw it cos it was the only thing getting close to my desktop.. and its a laptop, which makes it kinda more personal and mobile.. too used to the speed of my desktop that i can't revert back to a slower computer or i'd get so irritated.. :)

besides, after this year end's major exams, i'd be spending most of my time over at friend's houses gaming.. so i think the 9262 would be the best bet for that!

and i think that most people buy this cos its a want, and not a need.. cos this is just too 'beastly' to need ;)

I got PhysX working on my 8800m GTX but I'm using XP 32. You can try it out if you want. Here is what you will need to do.

    1. Download the 175.95 drivers. Link: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/nvidia/175series/17595_vista64.exe

    2. Uninstall the drivers you currently have. Once done, boot into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper. Link: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655

    3. Sweep the nVidia video driver by hitting analyze and clean.

    4. Reboot into normal mode, and install the 175.95 driver.

    5. Once rebooted and everything works fine, install the CUDA 2 beta driver. Link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/thanky...driver/NVIDIADisplayWinVista64(177_35)Int.exe

    6. Get the nVidia PhysX driver. Link: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Ageia-|-NVIDIA-PhysX-System-driver-8.06.12-download-1964.html

    7. Reboot.

    8. Go to the control panel, and go to nVidia PhysX properties. Then hit the settings tab. The option to select "Geforce PhysX" should not be grayed out. Select "Geforce PhysX", then hit ok. Your Vantage score should now skyrocket.

yeah what actually IS PhysX or what does it do? i'm still kinda lost here.. skyrocket.. ?! whoa! by how much? 3-5k ?? :D :D :D

but does it only boost my benchmarking scores or does it actually have a real effect to my gaming experience.. cos i'm currently not doing any games so i won't know the diff.. exams coming up . end of this year than gaming spree starts.. this's a work computer for now.

some benchmarks claim to be testing the computer beased on real-life games, graphics, etc.. i'm not sure how true is that. but benchmarks to me doesn't really mattter. what matters at the end of the day is the gaming experience that i enjoy. i hope the 9262 doesn't fail me as i have not pushed it yet :) still going slow on this baby

Chief, you own the most powerful notebook in the world. It ain't gonna fail you! If I were you though, I would go SLI and slap on another 8800GTX. I would also opt for a Quad Core Q9450 for only $150 bucks more at XoticPC. Unless you intend to upgrade yourself to SLI, Quad Core, triple HD's...why the heck else get the most powerful notebook in the world and cripple it with half-arsed configuration?

so im going to be upgrading gradually ive already started but adding a second HD
    next will be the RAM
    then the processor
    and finally the GPU

It's funny how often this statement crops up; however, while it makes sense when applied to almost every other notebook, the one notebook to which it is utterly inapplicable is the D901C. The beauty of the D901C (well, ok, one part of its beauty :D ) is the broad scope of upgradeability - that means that you can at least get the basic system, and start working with it, comfortable in the knowledge that, at your leisure, you can slowly build up to the ultimate notebook, instead of having to cobble together all at once the money necessary to buy the thing fully tricked out from the get-go.

Agreed; completely. If all you need's a four cylinder coupe, getting an eight-cylinder and pulling the plug wires off of half the cylinders is just not the same thing.

As for needing a 9262, you might be surprised. Well, hopefully nothing goes wrong with it, because if it does, it's going to hurt. On the bright side, you'll be able to get parts more easily compared to other laptops since it's a lot easier to get desktop CPU than a laptop CPU. Good luck for your O's. You'll need it if you decide to go crazy on the 9262. :D

To be honest, it's not really that useful. PhysX basically allows your GPU to do physics calculations, taking a load off your CPU. However, it only works in PhysX supported games, and there's a limited number of those. For example, if your shots hit a wall, and debris comes flying off, your CPU would calculate that, now, your GPU does it. Well, I might be wrong about the debris bit, but pretty sure that's how it works.

sry.. lost this thread in the forums.. sooo many threads popping up :)

yeah i'm planning to upgrade at the end of this year. 1st a 2nd(and maybe 3rd) HDD, then the GPU.. as for the processor, i think i'll give it a miss. perhaps next year then i'd change to quad. i'm just happy with duo now :)

yeah and thanks for the luck.. it seems so hard to study with this monster next to me in my room.. haha.

and i don't think i'd need the PhysX now.. cos as i said, trying to focus on studies 1st.. end of the year then i'd upgrade it to game like mad.. besides.. i'm kinda broke now coz i forgot to calculate C.O.D. ... so ended up having to empty my piggybank :D

as for the HDD, i can just stick it in and the mobo will automatically sense it right? i don't need to install drivers or anything for it.. ?? thx.
