Computers regardless of the model dont have a very long life span on the market. Someone is always coming out with something faster or stronger and the models are replaced to follow suite. Average life of a Sager model around a year. Since this model is very new you'll get about the longest life span you can expect.

Obsolescence is relative to what you need the machine for. If for graphics intensive applications or programs designed for high-end components, expect it to be outclassed in a few years. If not, then as long as you take care of it, it can last you quite awhile. I've had a desktop that's treated me well over many years despite the dated hardware, but it does what I need it to do just fine.
