it's been mentioned a few times that Mythlogic was working on an 8150 (p150) with a non-rubber coating. this is the solution they came up with:

that basically describes everything. this will be a thread for people trying to find other people to swap with :D

    Thanks for the work MYTHLOGIC!

I might've done this had it been available before. The problem is I like the rubber coating on the 8150 but I like that the 8130 case is black.

Lol. I actually would prefer, the rubber finish, but Im already in phase 3 of my order with Xotic, and didn't want to pay the difference for the coating.

That's the problem I see too, those who wanted the rubber finish, would have just gone ahead and got the 8150 with 460m, but those who didn't either didn't want it or weren't willing to pay for it. So the only way I imagine they would switch is if the got the rubber finish, free, or at a discount, and then ofcourse the guy who bought the 485m is going to want a discount too, but idk, maybe the three parties, Myth, 485m guy, and 8130, guy can come to some kind of agreement.

I really like the rubber coating! It feels like a plastic suede or a rubberised leather. It did not take longer for my finger to become accustomed to the trackpad texture.
I'm sure if I use a plastic trackpad my finger will move much faster O_O

I think I'd be more interested in buying the 6970M separately and having my reseller install it in there for me.

Or, if that's not possible because it's incompatible, I'll just do the same with the 485M. This is an upgrade I'll do in 2 years, so I won't have to buy a new laptop.

Who knows, maybe by then there will be better graphics cards better suited for my machine...In fact, I'm reasonably certain there will be.

But if there will not be, it's nice to know I can still upgrade to the 485M anyways.

This might be a noobish question, but when you say upgrade the power supply, Do you mean the power brick outside of the laptop that plugs into the wall? If that is the case, would the upgraded gpu still work while using the battery?

Yes you need to change the power brick from 120W to 180W.

The battery is irrelevant since on all the cards, the battery isn't powerful enough to even run them at full speed and throttles no matter what. None of these can run at full speed without being plugged in.
