just checking one thing here before
a) I bring it to work for a good workthrough with voltmeter and artificial load
b) call for guarantee
well, I just picked up my clevo570U(ordered from www.clevo.de) , enjoyed it for a full 2 h and 10 min, because that was as long the battery lasted. just barely got WinXp installed before it went belly up due to empty battery.
So a question:
if the powersupply is attached, then it should be possible to run off this and simultaneously charge battery? regardless of what charge the battery holds?
Now power leds (for battery and AC power) blinks , but the powersupply is plugged in (as the green light on this is on) to a wall outlet. However I notice a small ireegular flickering on the powersupply led, which of course is not a good sign...
pulling out the power supply from the wall then all power leds fades away.
Or am I missing something clevorish here? All other laptops it is just plug and play ...
does the battery take the whole night to recharge for the first time?
do I dare to leave the stuff plugged in ? if the powersupply goes , well I would not like my new fine glossy computer be ruined...
thanks in advance /rickard

A desktop replacement notebook is designed to be run plugged in. You won't get full performance off battery alone.
My 5760 is always plugged in when i'm using it. The battery will charge, if needed, while you use it.
I agree with Chaz, flickering LED on the power brick coulde an indication of bad power fromyour outlet. Try hooking it to a UPS or in another building (not just another outlet, you need to be sure it's not a house wiring problem.) -
just checked it at the workshop.
the b-y stuff gives out 10V at 0,2 A load, that is typical of a broken power supply. it should be capable of 20 V at 6 A, or atleast 18-19V.
well of you go to the dumster, piece-of-s...
gotta get down to the local store and buy a spare supply, can wait a week or two for the guarantee one to show up.
anyhow thanks for the replies.
