What would be a better choice?

    2x 1GB 677Mhz CL4

    or

    2x 2GB 533Mhz CL4

So its either 4GB of slower RAM or 2GB of faster RAM. Would the jump from 2GB to 4GB be more then the faster speeds?

Don't really care about the price diffrence.

EDIT: I'll be running Vista 64-bit.

    Thanks for any help. :)

But its a hard decision tho...

Here's a question, do you really need the 4 gigs of RAM?

I would choose the 667 mhz personally.

I don't really know if I need the 4 gigs. Will I notice the difference in games like Bioshock or Oblivion? I don't do any video/audio editing, just mostly games.

I was kinda leaning toward the faster 2 gigs, can anyone convince me that 4 gigs would help?

for multitasking and heavy textured games (especially in the new ones) there can be a noticeable increase in performance.

remember to check out the RAM Deals thread

The faster 2 GB RAM will be useful in those applications which access the RAM alot, but useless in other applications. In normal useage, the difference will not be noticible. If your running alot of programs, then yoyu should consider the 4 GB RAM, as that will be best suited for such applications and the fact that your running Vista.

The lower latency RAM does not make much of a difference. See here:

    Certainly not worth more money.

More RAM = better. However, 4GB is excessive in my opinion. Get a single 2GB stick now and add it to one of the sticks you have (you can run 1x 2GB + 1x 512MB). Later on if you need more you can upgrade.
