Does anyone know the answer to this yet, I have read alot of articles stating the fan noise on the m570ru is really loud, like not able to take it to library noisey. I know also though that the new TU has stealth mode but just wondering how quiet the new chassis is.

    Cheers

    good question.

    we need a comparison.

Hopefully Justin@XoticPC or someone that has used both can do the comparison for us. :)

The fan noise on the RU is kinda bad, but you can lock the fans at medium (which isn't too shabby) and not worry about it.

The real problem with the RU noise is not the overall fan volume, but rather how they come on - they start out at 100%, then slow down to whatever speed they "want" to run at. This creates sudden, louder noises intermittently - which would be a problem in some places.

At medium fans, though, it's not bad.

So, where am I going with this? Assume the worst: The M570TU has exactly the same cooling hardware (not entirely unlikely). The TU, with a lower TDP processor, will generate less heat and thus need less cooling, so you'll need less of the fans. As we've already established that medium is quiet, all is good.

YMMV as far as whether or not medium fans will be sufficient while gaming, though - they're more than adequate for non-gaming purposes, even with heavy processor load - but when the GPU gets toasty... dunno.

    That's worst case.

All that said: I'd love to see real numbers in regards to db levels compared between the two at max and medium fans.

On "Energy saving" (or whatever it is called in English) after SP1 for Vista the RU is surprisingly quite. I am very sensitive to noise, but now happy with the low noise level.

The keyboard however is f-d up. Or the keyboard software.

I'm also looking forward how strong the fan noise is :s. As far as I can see the chassis looks 1:1 to the RU. I wouldn't wonder if fan control is the same. It's really about time these new Clevos appear with appropriate reviews...
