Does anyone know exactly what change to the motherboard is required? are we talking about a resistor swap/ track cut or a whole new board?

I'm in the UK and no where is currently offering this upgrade (though the place I bought mine is 'looking into it' but has been for a while)

you can upgrade without a new motherboard revision....

If you get the notebook now with the new motherboard and 7950GTX/8700M GT, then upgrading to a 8800M GTX later is perfectly fine.

If you have/get a previous M570RU... then you can still upgrade... however there is a minor S3 issue with the Standby/Suspend... but other than that it functions fine.

No one really uses suspend/standby/sleep much anymore. Its easier to just Shutdown or Hibernate... which fully powers down the system.

Thats pretty much what I thought, both comapnies I spoke to said they wouldn't supply just the card and would have to take the machine in for a motherboard 'revision' if they would do it at all. grrr, I don't care about S3/sleep function, I use 'OFF' if i'm switching it off.

    Thanks,
