    Hi guys,

I'm buying a new computer, and I find myself hating shiny screens. In my search of the last vestiges of matte, I found this strange wonder over at Eurocom ( http://web.eurocom.com/EC/ec_model_config1(1,211,0)), which has a matte screen option. It's a Clevo M771CUH.

Now, I've read all of the posts on the 8760 owner's forum, but I'm not familiar with the m771 model, and I'm looking for reviews, or owners' opinions, or any useful links. Googling the model number does not produce a lot of useful information, and searching notebookreview forums revealed only one relevant post (mentioned below).

    The specs are here:
    http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/prodinfo_2.asp?productid=233
and the specs are identical to the specs for m770:
    http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/prodinfo_2.asp?productid=217

So what's the difference? If there is no appreciable difference, then I could get an m770 from RJTech like Milardo described in his post here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=465506 .

    Thanks a lot,
    Mae

    Hi

The only difference between the 770 and 771 is the chassis colour - 770 has a black chassis with white keyboard and surround whereas the 771 is all black :)

Hah! Thanks, Neil, that answers a lot. On the downside, I just reviewed the RJTech specs again, and it looks like their screen is non-matte. So I'm back to looking at the Canadians, wondering if their m771 is well-built, and the return policy OK. Their matte scren is 1920x1200, too. Got to figure out if I can even see that small :).
