i just received my M860ETU last week...
first day received...i installed the harddisk from my old dv6500t and it works like charm..only needed to install some drivers..

so...i downloaded the drivers from NVIDIA website and try to run 3dmark06 on it....it produces 9996 marks on the first attempt...
    sm 2.0 4751
    sm 3.0 4560

recently , this machine suddenly lags when playing prototype...usually not..

and then there comes the street fighter which fps drop to only 1fps..try restarting it and everything goes fine..

but , when i tried to run 3dmark06...the score just dropped down to 8600~ marks , and tried to install the 186.35 drivers....(before was 186.00 something)

and still it cannot perform as it was...got
    sm 2.0 4526
    sm 3.0 4284

is there a defect or something?

what operating system are you running as yesterday i checked and the latest drivers were 186.03

how did you install the new driver you downloaded from nvidia.
its not complicated but you have to do it in safe mode and also totally clean up the deleted driver.

if you need a guide just ask and ill post it here.

Theres also a possibility that you have something installed that isn't compatable with your new setup. I had this program that changed the windows interface, it ran fine on my old desktop but when i installed it on my notebook, it would cause it to spike the cpu once every few minutes or so.

what are your GPU temps when you are playing?
    - use RivaTuner to monitor the GPU temps while in-game

if the temps exceed ~90-95C degrees and above... then the videocard is downclocking itself to prevent overheating damage.
