I have my m860tu for almost one whole year. And I would like to share my experience with you.

Let me start by telling you that I am very happy with this laptop. This is actually my second laptop. And it's by far better than my first Znote 6224.

After almost one year the temps haven't changed much.
The temps idles around: CPU 54c, Cores 43c and GPU 50c.
And after 2 hours of gaming: CPU 82c, Cores 77c and GPU 83c.
The HDD is very cool it idles around 45c and at the hottest 55c.

But once (or maybe more if I wasn't paying attention) the temps went reaally high. It happend when I was playing burnout on max settings with 4x AA supersampling on.
The temps went to: CPU 92c, Cores 88c and GPU 92c.

My second issue is that the whining noise is so loud. Even in silent mode I can hear it from a distance. This issue is really annoying when I am at school because the person next to me can hear it too. Also I already updated the bios but didn't see any difference.

The third issue is that sometimes there is a high pitch noise coming out from the speakers. But it disappears after I change the volume.

These are the only issues I have encountered till now.

    My system specs:
    CPU P9500
    GPU m9800 GTS
    Ram 4GB

For the temps, have you ever cleaned it for dust? Changing thermal paste helps too.

Which BIOS did you upgrade to? I cant recall which BIOS version should fix the whining noise, but I guess some other know.

Yes I cleaned the vents a month ago. I didn't changed the thermal paste because I never done it before. But if it's easy I may do it.

I can't remember which bios. But I think it was the latest patch.

I think you need to replace your thermal paste. It degrades over time and you should periodically change it.

There are so many guides on the internett explaining how to do it. For the temps, I use HWMonitor.

    This is me repeating myself.

As for monitoring temps, you can use hwmonitor.

If it is your first time applying thermal paste, try looking on youtube for videos on how it's done; it helps.

    Thank you for your replies.
I guess I have to reapply the thermal paste.
But what thermal paste do you guys recommend?

And also if I replace my processor (9500p) with the T9700 will the whining noise go away?

    I don`t think there is a T9700.

Do you have bluetooth? Because the whining noise disappeared for most of us when we enabled it.

    Oops I meant the T9600.

The whining noise is still there even after I enabled bluetooth. Only the first minute when I start my laptop it doesn't make a whining noise. But after that it's always there even in high performance mode.

I would reccomend any aftermarket paste honestly, they're all pretty good, Antec makes a decent silver paste, so does Rosewill, of course Arctic silver is the most popular.. and Ive been hearing about a new kind of paste lately, some type of new silver paste.
Make sure to use a dot of thermal paste about the size of a .177 caliber BB from a standard pellet/BB gun but no bigger than a pea. You wouldn't think it covers the whole die, but that heatsink puts pounds of preasure on the die and squishes the paste out. Also too much paste can gob all over the CPU and actually cause more heat. Of course you want to remove every bit of the old thermal paste first.
Try reinstalling your sound drivers for the whining sound, and the other whine noise is a fan or something? Exactly where is the other whining noise aside from the speakers? Honestly I think it could be your power brick going bad, or just acting up, my Gateway's brick died, and I heard a whiny type noise about a week before it finally just blew a voltage reg. Also my touchpad got all jittery when the powerbrick was plugged in before it died, so are you experiencing any other issues? Even tiny little issues that you think don't matter can help us figure this out for you, so don't hold back.

Ill just go with the Arctic Silver one then. And I already tried reinstalling my sound drivers. The whine noise from the speakers isn't always there, just sometimes. I dont find this speaker whining noise as big as a problem as the one from the notebook itself.

Well my power brick does give a whining noise too. But I don't think it has something to do with it. Because it had a whining noise since I bought it. But it may have to do something with the fan because when the fan is not spinning I don't hear the whining noise. And that's only in the first minute when I start up my laptop. Also the noise is constantly the same always at the same level it never changes. So this is another reason it may not be the CPU noise.

Except for the 3 issues I said in the first post. And that once my boot partition went corrupt. I don't have any other issues.

Take off the back cover, and listen, then you should be able to determine if the fan is the culprit or not.
My power brick doesn't whine right now, but my Gateway's did from the day I got it, and about 3 weeks later it poofed.

I have heard a whine from my power brick and the CPU before.

After doing some BIOS updates (up to .13 at the moment), it seems to have disappeared.
The power brick's whine stopped on it's own
