I got my m860tu in september and it has been running well since.

I turned on Hardware Monitor lately to see my temps and have noticed that the GPU is idleing at 56-57 degrees celcius in 24.5 degree celcuis room. My cpu is idleing at 41-42 and the laptop is sittin on a zalman cooler. Do i need to check my heatsink(s) and maybe get some arctic silver?

    Thanks!

    temps seem fine.

just make sure to clean out the dust from vents and fans regularly (like once a month would be good).

I think it's normal. My room is around 20C and my 8800 is idleing at 50C, and that's the 5793 with better cooling system.

does seem a tiny bit high (in silent mode i'm idling CPU 27/28C and GPU 40C. Keep in mind my gpu's 1st state is underclocked/undervolted (awesome for temp/battery life). this is an 8660 from late august (1st shipment :D) No cooler either. I ditched my toshiba HDD that idled about 55C and maxed around 72C! Now I have a little friend known as the OCZ Vertex 250gb and it's AWESOME.

Just wondering, howcome 16-17c more than normal (mine m860 idles at 39-42) are fine temps? Im guessing my temps are what the rest of us have?

What temps do you get after some gaming?

my GPU runs at like 60-65 all the time... but im always using my computer but mainly just desktop at these temps..

only goes to like 70-75 gaming..
or 80-90 if im using Dox more agressive drivers.

its anoying thou.. my fans seem to be on one lower than high all the time?

    any advice.

would really like a way to make my laptop quiter with desktop 2d use. im 2 lazzy to use the silent mode button... :p

Since its over 6 months old and you use it for long periods, it could use a clean.

When you clean out the fans/heatsink you might as well apply some quality paste.

how do u change your Gpus first state?.. any links...
im sure i have way to much GPU power for normal use..

i use a 1920x1200 monitor plugged into my 1680x1050 so mabye thats the cause of higher temps on desktop use?...

just want my fans 1 speed slower on the desktop they are quite LOUD!
Does that in effect FOrce silent mode when your GPU is not under much strain?... sounds ideal for me as i cant be assed pressing the Silent mode button.
