My m860tu cannot display hdmi output to my TV while in battery mode, only the title bar is shown in this mode.

Is this normal? Can laptops only output hdmi while on AC mode?

Mine can, albeit not for very long.. the 9600M GT runs at it's 3D clocks.

The title bar of what? What do you see on your laptop's screen?

    Are you using a M860TU?

I can see everything in my laptop screen, no problems, but in the TV I just can see the topmost part of the screen (where you usually see the title bar of anything).

    Sorry, no.

What are the clocks that your GPU does in HDMI on AC and on battery?
Have you tried changing the resolution in HDMI?
What happens if you go to HDMI on AC and then unplug it?

lol troubleshooting, sounds like more trouble.

    GPU Core Clock:
    AC: 600 MHz
    Batt: 275 MHz

    GPU Memory Clock:
    AC: 799 MHz
    Batt: 300 MHz

    Does that explain the problem?

I was hoping it would, but oddly enough, while watching a movie on my HDMI TV, my clocks suddenly dropped to:
Level #3 GPU: 400 MHz, Shader: 800 MHz, Memory: 300 MHz
    while the highest is:
Level #4 GPU: 500 MHz, Shader: 1250 MHz, Memory: 800 MHz
    :S

Is the rest of the screen just black on your HDMI monitor, and did you try lowering/changing the resolution?

Yes, the rest is black, imagine that you can just see a colored title bar "strip" in the top part of the HDMI TV and the rest is black.

Yes, I did try to change the resolution, and as I've said everything is working properly when the laptop is plugged in AC.

That's just how it is. Mine does the same thing on battery.
