for those people who owns the m860tu beast, can i kindly request from you guys a screenshot of the memory and spd tab of cpu-z 1.50? I don't have 1333mHz but it has been told that this laptop downclocks 1333memory to 1066.

yup but i have problem with the 1333mhz as indicated by my thread here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=355751

yes, the 1333mhz is downclocked to 1066 but everything else (like timings) should be as fast as the native 1066. for my case, the 1333 is downclocked but the timings are still of the 1333 (slower) and the performance of both types of rams are noticeable for me during startup.

    what could be the problem?

Looks to me like CPUZ is misreading the spd info on DDR3. or possibly just this chipset, but they all have spurious speed ratings.

i think the 1333 is really performing on the low side when downlocked to 1066 with this laptop because as i've said i was able to compare the startup speeds between the 1333 and 1066, it was noticeable by a few seconds. i don't know if the chipset or ram has the problem.

I came here to ask just this - last time I checked CPUID it claimed I had DDR2 modules (understandable, old version); new versions have the wrong speed. 532Mhz here as well.

Memtest86 (Jan3, 2009 version) also reports my ram as 532Mhz, which is why I grabbed a new CPUID to check. I guess both must be off, or else a bunch of us have the wrong memory ;)

532mhz is considered 533mhz by most people. i can't see any problem with that.
