    Hi.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and my build-in webcam suddenly stopped working the other day. I'm pretty good with computers, but i just can't fix it!
So I just re-installed Windows 7, as it was working perfectly the other day with a clean install.

The problem is that skype tells me "Your webcam is working" but I only see black. Nothing happens at all. Is my webcam broken?
I have tried several drivers but no dice :(

I hope you can help me since my girlfriend is nagging me about it, and she is getting on my nerves now..

So please help me fix this.
It's the build-in Webcam (Bisoncam i think) in the m860tu.

Have you tried taking apart your screen, disconnecting and cleaning then re-connecting the cam?
Its a long shot but could work

Did you try uninstalling from DevMgr and then restarting, it should do the "New Hardware Found" thing and install it, its worth a go :)

tried that 5 times. and 5 different drivers. also from windows update.
in device manager it states it's working correctly and skype also tells me it'sworking corectly, but i only see black. And no, I didn't place any duct tape over it :p

I just don't get it.. I think it's broken.. But how it happened i don't know..

By any chance can you edit the brightness and contrast settings in skype?

No i made a clean install of win 7 64 bit, and installed skype. black screen.
then i removed the drivers and the webcam restarted and installed the clevo drivers. same thing. it's really strange since it was working just fine a week ago.

Sounds like a hardware problem, contact your reseller, or if out of warranty, try checking the connections (service manual in my sig).

You know I also have a Bison webcam on my 5796. I've used it many times over without giving it a second thought. Recently I updated drivers for the new Win 7 drivers from Sager's website and now, my Bison Cam only shows black. It is recognized and installed as it always was, but it just outputs blackness. Also, when I try to use it sometimes, it says that the video device is in use in another program.
