    hello, ive just bought this laptop with the same specs as the one used in the benchmarks on http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsId=4591

    the only difference is that I have a GTS instead of a GT and my 3d mark 06 is 9077. I just tried running FRAPS with the same settings as the benchmark linked above and for COD4 im getting 20 FPS less than the GT. What am I doing wrong? Im definately not on silent mode and I am using stock clevo drivers from the website. whats going on?

    Thanks

    You can try to use the same drivers used in the review and see what the difference is.
    Here's a copy-paste:
    For benchmarking, I used Nvidia 177.92 drivers downloaded from www.laptopvideo2go.com.

    Well, you'd be amazed what drivers can do for a computer. Also make sure you use the same settings for COD and the same version this might influence your results too.

    I wouldn't worry too much about the scores, I was curious to see how they compare to the GT though :). Usually if you run it a few times you get variations in score so you could try and see what you get. Also when you do it you can try to make sure you don't have any unneeded stuff in the background that take some of the resources, most of the scores we see are out of the box with no anti-virus, start-up processes etc.

    8833 not bad,but I think that you must worry about real life performance.

    Real game performance is what counts. Notebookcheck was showing a 1fps difference in games like Crysis, I'd bet their right:

    This coming from someone that has a sig the size of my posts and compares OC'ed cpus and gpus with 3dmark'06 sounds strange :p.

    @5777
    Anyway, you can try to download the demos of some new games and check your fps in there, I'm sure you'll run anything with very good fps.

    @nirvana

    I was checing 3d mark because if you read this thread I was confused as to how using the stock clevo driver from the website and using 177.92 laptop video 2 go drivers gave very similar 3d marks but there was an increase of 20 FPS in the laptopvideo to go drivers.... how can you explain that! :p but yeah it doesnt bother me too much I was just messing around with 3d mark cause ioaniro asked me to rerun it.

    9800m gt didn't exist by the time they released 175.75, that's how I explain it.

    You don't have to wait till you get a retail copy, just download the demo and post benchmarks.

    BTW...were your scores in 3dmark06 at 1280x1024 or 1280x800?

    @kobe I used the standard 1280 x 1024 its the only option in 3d mark 06 free edition

    It would be good to get some comparisons with the GT on different settings going, hopefully with a similar spec'd M860TU. 3DMark seems unreliable if you're reporting a performance increase in-game and I wouldn't worry about it in any case either.
