Whats up guys, I have a Sager, the m86tu model, I forget the name Sager designated to this laptop...

I bought the laptop around 2.5 years ago and it worked fine with games until recently.

Every game I play now pretty much plays fine for 15-45minutes, then the computer just starts lagging extremely bad, like the graphics card was turned off or something, (this happens for about 2-3minutes) then the game runs fine again for another 10-15minutes. It's a continuous cycle and I don't know how to fix it.

I've Ctrl Alt Dlt and removed any background programs that are using too much memory - it isn't that. I'm wondering if there is a problem with my Graphics card or if I need to install a new driver or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

hi. got mine round about the same time and havnt had one problem.
so, have you cleaned your fans out lately and what temperatures are you getting. load HW Monitor to monitor your temperatures.
what driver have you got loaded. i guess its a nvidia so go to control panel > click on nvidia control panel > bottom left click system information and it will show what driver you have loaded in there.
if youve got lots of vertical lines on your screen then its the graphics card on its last legs. if you havnt then its something else.
what card are you running. 9800GT or GTS they are from 2 years ago.

HW download on that link didn't work.

    9800M GT

    ForceWare version: 176.02

under the "components" tab all the file versions are: 7.15.11.7602 except the bottom 4 under NVIDIA Control Panel Container which are 1.5.700.81

    No vertical lines

    GPU Temperature idling is 147F

    The two CPU's are @ 127F & 129F

    HDD 134F

If that's too hot let me know, I haven't cleaned my fans once..

I played a game and waited for it to lag out - the Max GPU temp was 206F or 97C

Of course that's too hot. Your GPU is downclocking at like 95C.

Open your machine, clean the fan, and reapply fresh thermal paste to the GPU and CPU.
