i know the x8100 supports mobile i7 and the m980nu mobile core 2, but apart from that there almost exactly the same, with reports that a 6970m crossfire works in a x8100. what i'm wondering is what kind of power supply is each rated to support, are they the same? power support wise, also these are the only 18.4 models from gtx 280/260 series that support 18.4" screen correct, i presume the m980nu isn't backlit like the x8100 is.
