Hi i'm new to purchasing computers or any other things for the matter online, and i'm thinking about purchasing a sager notebook from xotic pc. However, i am unsure of their reputation and am nervous this being my first time buying something online.I would like to know if any users who have purchased from them would share their experiences. Should i be worried?
Thanks in advance for any advice

wow... I guess you havent read their BBB record and resellerratings... which are both in the Clevo Guide.
They are one of the best vendors that have reps in this forums.
You should not feel one bit of hesitance when wanting to purchase from them. -
Like Gophn said, they are one of the best vendors (probably top 3) in the custom notebook department. Give them a shot, I'm sure you'll love them.
I bought my notebook from them and will be buying more in the future. Speak to Justin, he'll take care of you. -
I ordered a 2096 from Sager on friday. I did 2 sales chats preceding the purchase and found them to have great customer service.
You have NOTHING to be worried about ordering from xoticpc. -
I often confuse these forums for an XoticPC fanclub. They are a good reseller.
-
Heh, yup.
Based on my experience and various recommendations on these forums, I definitely will be buying my first Sager, an NP8660, from XOTICPC when I have the cash in a few months.
-
XoticPC is one of the best dealers on the net.
-
As I said in a previous thread, talking to XoticPC via email is practically instant messaging
Amazing service. -
thanks guys. i will purchase from them

Hey there legendaryleader, you will be very happy going with xotic. I just recieved my 5797 less than a week ago and I couldn't be happier. What supprised me was the speed of the delivery. I ordered it on Jan. 20th and received it on Jan. 28th. The reps at xotic were great and very helpful, espetially Justin W. Have fun with your new purchase. Take care.

I know of no other company who have sales reps actually become members of forums. XoticPC ftw.
p.s.
MY ORDER SHIPPED TODAY! -
quite a number of retailers have reps here.
have you seen this yet?

Let's see, there's Paladin44 (powernotebooks.com), Darksmiley (Darksmiley Systems), Neil@KobaltComputers (Kobalt Computers), just to name a few off the top of my head.
-
Well...I never see those guys, so nyah
-
Unfortunately, I think they made things a little more restrictive in terms of what resellers could post, which reduced their day-to-day presence a little.
-
Chomping at the bit here, ordered the Sager 5793 from xotic a couple of weeks ago, Jan.19, and it took the full 7 business days for build and burn in, then to skinning/paint for skinning, it's been there for 4 days now, so I decided to upgrade shipping to 2 day air.
Don't get me wrong , not really complaining, just wondering if Xotics thats busy, as I wouldn't think it'd take more than a day or two to apply a skin to the back of a notebook ! Could be wrong I guess.
Anyways , keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend ! -
Except that what you're forgetting is that the notebook actually had to be shipped from Sager's facilities to Xoticpc's shop before they could start working on it.
Normally, when someone orders a Sager system through a reseller such as Xoticpc, the system is shipped to the buyer direct from Sager's facilities and never actually gets to spend even a nanosecond in sunny Nebraska. However, when you customize with, e.g., a skin, then the system has to first be shipped to Xoticpc, then the work gets done, and then it gets shipped back out to you.
It's that first leg of the deal that's adding all the extra time. -
Thanks for the info. So Xotic doesn't actually perform the build/burn-in process? In my particular case , out of a possible 3-7 business day process, it took Sager 7 business days to get my notebook to Xotic, and now out of a possible 3-7 business day paint/skinning process, I'm on the 4th business day, right now , the notebook is in Xotics hands. Correct ?
Again, not complaning, just trying to understand the reseller process, as I would rather they take the time to get things right, than to do a rush job !
-
What kind of painting did you get...just as a random question.
-
Having one of xotic's custom skins applied to the back of notebook. Will post pics !
-
Eh, I've been waiting on a reply from Xotic's sales dept for the past few days.
-
Phone or email?
-
I placed my order for a 2096 on 1/30 around midnight, and my laptop shipped yesterday 2/3. Will be here tomorrow. It helped I had no OS or much in the way of configuration change aside from processor.
My only complaint at all about xoticpc is their shipping rates seem pretty high. -
Email it is. -

I'm glad to hear you received the e-mail message.
Unfortunately Yahoo always sends our emails into the spam folder, according to reports from our customers.

Bought my Np9262 from xoticpc, great customer service !

I, too, was skeptical about purchasing from Xotic PC, as I knew next to nothing about them. But, I'm happy to say that I've had nothing but positive encounters with them, and especially Justin. I would have no qualms about purchasing from them again.
