I just formatted and installed all the drivers and now I noticed this annoying volume bar that comes up whenever I change the volume using the Fn keys . I never had this the previous times I've reinstalled XP on this notebook and I am not sure how to get rid of it. Just a minor annoyance but if it's possible to disable this I would be glad to hear.

Just in case nobody knows what I am talking about I attached a screen shot.

If anyone can tell me how to get rid of it that would be sweet.

    Thanks

I'm almost sure it's a program installed if you reformatted XP with the recovery CD that came with your laptop. Simply click Start, then Run and type in "msconfig". Click the startup tab, and look for anything containing "volume" or "bar" and uncheck it so it is disabled from starting on boot.

    Edit: I don't own a Sager, am I still welcome here? :p

Your help is greatly appreciated vashts.

So I disabled the hotkey setup and that seems to do the trick. Not sure what the hotkey setup does since I never bothered to install previously. I must find a way to remove it.

    Thank you for the help

yes that is from the hotkey program. the hotkeys still work without it but you dont get the onscreen display unless you install it. personally i dont install it. i hate the on screen display and all of the buttons work just fine anyway

Yea the only thing that doesn't work without the program is the A key on the right. I think it's default was windows media player. I can live without it though.

    Try :
    -updating video driver
    -changing background image
    -eating ice cream
-using CCleaner to remove leftover programs
    -eating more ice cream.
