I saw some people post about how they have used modified BIOS for their systems to OC but I haven't seen anyone posting what is the most powerful CPU they have gotten to work on their laptop. What is the "best" cpu I can use on this system without using modified BIOS?

That model used the second gen core i and wouldnt support the XM CPU's so the i7 2860QM is the max for it.

Thank you! I saw someone had flashed it with the P170hm bios and was able to get a XM into it. I don't want to take a chance that the flashing would mess things up.

the flashing isnt necessarily required for ur machine to run either a 2920xm or 2960xm. depending on ur psu though (120w or 180w) it would probably be better to stick with the fastest regular sandy bridge quad 2860qm :)

Righto! The XM CPUs also put out more heat, so that's something to take into consideration when musing over upgrades.
