anyone else experience this? ijust reinstalled windoews from disc, and used all the updated drivers from the drivers section of this forum, and now whenever i touch the keyboard and try to use the mouse, it remains frozen for about a second. any ideas? thanks! setup in sig.

when you said "use the mouse", did you mean an external mouse, or the touchpad? and did you try to reinstall to the default driver (i.e. return it to the factory setting)? most people having problem after driver installations seems to remedy it by rolling back to the default driver.

Are you sure this is not actually a feature? Some touchpads disable themselves while you're typing, to prevent unintended mouse input from your wrists touching the touchpad etc.
Have a look through the system's mouse settings, there will be a some touchpad settings in there somewhere. -
I mean the touchpad yeah. I'm not sure if it's with a mouse as well but i don't have one to try with. I'm not sure if it's a feature, i've tried looking in the settings but can't find anything. I'm using the latest synaptics software. I'll try installing the default and seeing if it fixes the problem...
edit: just noticed this doesn't happens with certain keys... it doesn't happen with ctrl, alt, fn, windows key, maybe some others. -
I figured it out... for anyone with a similar issue follow this post. It seems pretty silly that they'd have it configured like this, and not have any sort of on/off checkbox. Cheers for your help anyway guys
