suddenly in winVista HP while i am playing bioshock the keyboard was not respond then i attached my G15 to exit the game to see what happened .. the windows seems not respond to the laptops keyboard , even the function jey doesnt respond . although the hot keys are working fine.
then i installed winXP HE (the keyboard works fine in boot and bios) the keyboard worked but after installation of the drivers (from the utility cd) the keyboard does not respond at all (XP)![]()
does anyone have a single clue (at least )
EDIT: problem solved , i just detached then reattached the battery and the keyboard worked fine ... weird
EDIT: NAH the keyboard worked for a little while and after 1minute it didnt respond![]()
update: both keyboard and touch pointer do not respond

does the battery have anything to do with the keyboard??

thats the thing with notebooks
if you turn off the power to a desktop you remove ALL power
but after a system lockup, you sometimes have to remove a notebook battery to give it a proper shutdown
glad to see its sorted out though -
my keyboard doesnt work even in the bios menu after 1 minute

the sore thing that i live in very far country ( saudi arabia)
-
have you popped it out and checked the cable that hooks it to the mobo.. that was a issue a had at first. re-plugged it back in and worked fine..when i swapped it the first time i didnt get the cable just right..might nit work but it is something to check.
-
Check for an updated firmware for the keyboard - it might be a firmware with the label "KBC" or somesuch related to it. Check on the Intel website as well as the usual suspects.
-
-
and KBC in sagers 1.00.07Sh
and what i should search about in Intel's ?? -
The keyboard is linked to the system with a cable. That`s what he meant.
If you prop open the keyboard(there are some hinges of sorts that hold it in place,I don`t know how to explain it) you`ll notice if the cable has detached itself. -
-
I didn`t even know there was a 8Sh version.
-
08sh is just sagers version of the .08 direct from clevo its the same thing.. so no you have the most current bios..
-
now i am totally confused :-S ...i just installed windows many times ( many versions xp and vista ) and the exact time when my keyboard shuts is when i restart after installing VGA driver 167.43 , is it software or hardware problem ?
-
nah .. its hard ware problem because today i installed windows(vista32ulti) and installed each driver ... no problem . then connected the usb mouse + speakers + external HDD .. puff the keyboard + touchpad are out of order
is anyone here can tell me how to disassemble and reassemble the notebook in order to check the wires ?? -
i lifted the keyboard to check the wire that connect the keyboard to the MB . unfortunately nothing changed
my BIOS ver is .08SL is it good idea to change it to .07SH ??
and iam new to this BIOS thing (i never changed bios in my life ) -
you can try but the only way you will be able to flash backwards like that is through the phlash16 in dos mode, normally winphlash will not let you do that
-

-
am i doomed ??
-
imo sounds like then it may be hardware. have you tried the oem video driver or a different one from somewhere else other than the one you have been trying
-
also i dont use the provided touchpad drivers i got the oem ones from the touchpad manufacture
-
i called sagers tech support . the pinoy guy told me the defect may be in the keyboard-touchpad controller (physically) in the motherboard
he told me the bios would never have to do with this problem -
tomorrow im gonna send my notebook to xoticpc to get a refund
-
i read in this thread someone with same problem of me got his solved
can anyone tell me what does reball means??? -
http://www.etech-web.com/bga_reballing.htm imo not what i would do if you can get it repaired or get a new system..also chances are this can not be done without extensive dissasembly of your notebook.. and this most def would void our warr
my NP5793's keyboard not responding :(
