i just received my new m860TU today and on my quote it siad i would be getting Bluetooth, i assumed the m860tu had a bluetooth modul inside it, but they gave me this tiny little usb key that is a blue tooth device, is this acceptable or should they have given me an inbuilt one, i also had a finger print reader on the quote and it didnt come with one of those either. so overall i wasn't very happy with the vendor especially because to begin with they told me they could get it within afew days and i didn't get it until 21 days later. (the clevo itself is amazing though). Im going to contact them about getting my finger print reader, but should i bother about the bluetooth thing, it is supost to come with an inbuilt bluetooth modul?

I had exactly the same problem with the same dealer!!!! I just figured that cause it took me so long to get the actuall laptop then there would be no point sending it back for an extra week or two two a dodgy company....

i only live 10 minutes from them so im not worried about sending it back i can just drop it off. but im unsure if the m860tu comes standard with an inbuilt Bluetooth or not. are they ripping me off by giving me a usb Bluetooth?

it comes as an optional extra from some companys but as they sent you a bluetooth dongle then it means you must have paid for it so it should be in built. it defo comes with the fingerprint reader as standard so i think youve been done somewhere along the line.
are they a OEM reseller or a bit of a micky mouse company.
as your not too far away then i would go and cause hell and demand they install the bluetooth and fingerprint reader.

The fingerprint reader is a factory option, meaning that it can only be installed by clevo in the factory, so they'd need to swap out your chassis for one with the reader. Not necessarily a problem, just letting you know.

yeah I’m definitely going to go back and cause hell lol, I know there definitely in the wrong for the finger print reader and they will have to give me that, but there’s no way for me to prove that the Bluetooth mention on the quote was support to be an internal module so I bet they are going to try to get out of that somehow. Hopefully they are nice and give me an internal one but I bet they wont. Any ideas on how to convince them? lol

i thought the fingerprint reader was standard and it was only left off if you asked for it to be.

I'm pretty sure that when the distributors order them from clevo they can order them with or without fingerprint readers. If they came in all of them and then were removed if you didn't want them, sager (& other distribs) would have piles of the things.

lol check this out i emailed the store and this is what they said:

    > hello
    > i got my m860tu but it has no finger print reader or blue tooth which was
    > included on the quote.

    > They gave me this usb toggle thing that is bluetooth, but you would expect
    > when buying a a $3000 high end laptop and it says bluetooth on the quote that
    > you would actually get a laptop with an Internal bluetooth module which is
    > standard from other clevo suppliers, not a laptop with a seperate usb
    > devices.
    > what can i do to get these installed into my laptop?

    Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately they have been removing the Fingerprint readers from most laptops recently. Toshiba/HP etc have been discontinuing them from their machines. Sorry it was not removed from the laptop special on the website, most people find a password to be far superior to the fingerprint scanners.

Also, regarding the bluetooth i would imagine that if they have supplied a mini USB bluetooth that the laptop does not support internal bluetooth, and if the web special mentions bluetooth it's just a free bonus we're giving with this model.

Other than this i hope the laptop if performing to your expections, i'd be curious to know if you've tested it in games and it has given you higher than average performance.

how bad is that, i donno what to do now, ill just keep pestering them and hopefully they give in.

that says it all. mickey mouse company that doesnt actually know what it is selling. they most probably buy them already boxed and just sell them on.
OEM sellers buy them barebone (as far as i know) and then build to your spec. of what you ordered.and then fully test them.
bluetooth does come as standard from some companys but where i got mine from in the uk its an optional extra that costs £25/$40 (look in my sig at kobalt website and do a config of the nexus/m860tu and you will see the bluetooth option. to turn it on we press Fn key and F12 key.there is not an option on there for fingerprint reader as it comes as standard.
did you also buy extra 2 or 3 year warranty? if so good luck if you ever send it back.

have a read of Gophn brilliant clevo guide HERE and maybe phone up a repitable dealer on the list near where you live for advice. they will be able to tell you if the fingerprint reader has been discontinued and also about the bluetooth.
you can also get the user manual HERE

heres am update on how pathetic "Best deals 4you computers" are:

    my email:

well since it was on the quote and i payed for it then i would like to get my
money back cause i didn't get it, other clevo vendors charge $ 99 for the
finger print reader and $35 for the internal blue tooth module. So is it
possible to be reimbursed for the blue tooth and fingerprint reader as it was
included it in the quote but i have not been given that.
    thanks

    there reply:

    Hi Andrew,
The fingerprint reader is an option that would require a change of the chassis normally, and i was unaware that it was still an option on that laptop.. As it is only a $20 part we are happy to provide you with $20 store credit. Also, as previously mentioned we have supplied bluetooth, and made no mention of it being an internal option on our web special, as internal bluetooth is sometimes very difficult to get (as has been the case with this model)

bottom line NEVER shop with "BEST DEAL 4 U COMPUTERS & I.T."

Ha lol! They gave me such a hassell when buying mine. I managed to get a price beat on the M860TU for around 2,700 :)D ) however it took a week until I got a reply about my order and when they did reply, the only laptop they could supply me with was the M860TU with a 1280x800 screen and 9800m gt with no bluetooth for 2,800!!! If i didn't accept I would have to pay over 3,200 for the laptop which I originally intended to order.

i think you should take what they say with a pinch of salt. i dont know about HP & Toshiba but the m860tu fingerprint reader has not been discontinued from their machines. also the bluetooth does still come with an internal module and these are quite cheap.

Lies! All Lies! If fingerprint readers were so bad then why is Clevo as well as some other manufacturers placing them in their latest models?

Also, if bluetooth internal is not supported by this laptop, then how come I am able to connect to my phone and other bluetooth devices? Magical Fairy Dust or components created by the Elves at Santa's Workshop?

The text message name alone should have given away how unprofessional they are.
