    Just to be sure:

    1st - Download and install the Intel's Chipset Instalation Utility(version dated 13/5/2009): http://downloadmirror.intel.com/10884/eng/INF_allOS_9.1.0.1012_PV.exe

NOTE: To overwrite previous versions, just copy the installer .exe to C:\ -> Start -> Run -> type C:\INF_allOS_9.1.0.1012_PV.exe -overall

    2nd - Download and install the Intel's WiFi Link Drivers(version dated 1/5/2009) http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2753&lang=eng

If the problem still continues, the most simple option is to call sager support. You can try checking if the WiFi card is well inserted in the PCI-e x1 slot, maybe there is some bad contact on some pins due thermal creep, wich can lead to random malfunctions.

    ;)

Forgive me if my post is not helpful, but does Intel not have drivers on their website? Have you tried those instead of the drivers provided by Sager.

to reply back to posts in order...

audigy, did the driver thing. 3rd time just now. gonna have to see what happens. i'm gonna give it 2 or 3 days before i check it physically. i rarely move my laptop, so i doubt it's that, even though i know the possibility. it'll malfunction up to 3 or 4 times over a 4-6 hour session sometimes.

bog, i used intel drivers. haven't even checked for sager drivers seeing as they rarely update their drivers.

shyster, i checked logs when it first started happening and nothing. i just checked again because of your reminder and nothing.

thanks for replies. if it still happens i'm gonna open it up and then call sager/xotic.

update: it stopped working a couple of hours after my last post in this thread. since then, it's worked fine. i opened it up, too and connections were secure. still have my fingers crossed, though.

forgot to mention, my wireless card started acting up after a recent windows update. i don't even know what i installed. i accidentally pushed install without preview. i went back and looked through them and nothing stood out. besides, i've updated with intel drivers 3 times since then. also, the windows update before that, my computer going into standby started acting funky after the update. again, nothing to note that would cause that. i hate microsoft sometimes.
