Hi guys, need advice urgently on what I can do about my situation

I had problems with my np8150, emailed sager who then put me in touch with a UK clevo repair company goldenstar.

I told them I had problems with screen and then the laptop wouldnt turn on.
Sent it in for repair and was told it was motherboard problem.

So I ended up paying £259 for the repair. (New motherboard, new keyboard and a new bottom case) but I had to wait nearly over a month as they didnt have the case in stock.

They sent the laptop to the wrong address so I had to travel 30 miles to collect it from UPS

Got the laptop back tonight and was excited.
And ... the screen has lines all down it.
    GRRRRR.

Would of been cheaper to buy a new laptop. Cant figure out why tbe technician didnt notice screen problem.

What can I do other than get angry ?

Can you take pictures of the screen? It may be a loose cable that got knocked in shipping.

as Meaker said, check the ribon cable as it could of worked lose in transit.
lines doesnt sound good though as that normaly points towards a dying graphics card. are the coloured lines or grey and does it fill the whole screen.
please tell us it not like my picture below.

i still cant understand why sager would direct you across the water to the uk. that just doesnt make sense.

jeez, me not seen one like that before.

as stated, check the ribbon cable (think its under the keyboard) and also check the ram sticks are seated and not lose. actually check everything is not lose and also the screws holding down the gpu.

hope its a simple solution and it gets sorted soon for you.

The windows 8 screen might be confusing people ... picture is fine, just lots of white lines.

Contact the repair company again. I imagine the work they did is warrantied to not be DoA. It could have happened in shipping or be a GPU or failing MB again. I have gotten a MB replaced before by Sager and it was defective on first power on after getting back. Another MB swap and it was fine.

Things happen sometimes. Is a bummer but hopefully they accept it for no additional cost on you and fix it.

That looks like the screen cable to me since you are only getting one LVDS channel (hence you get one line missed every second line). Either the cable needs reseating or the cable/connector is damaged.

Yes, it looks like the cable is loose. Try reseating it.
