hey I just bought a p150em from a ebayer, but the bad part was it was sold as is, and he told me that the lcd was not working.
I was ambitious and thought I could figure it myself, but to no avail was it working.
it charges fine, it boots up with led lights on the keyboard, and he told me that both the cpu and gpu worked since he tested it out on another machine.
my question is would I have to replace the screen or something else?
here is what I have done so far.
tried booting out of the box- nothing on screen, just blank.
tried booting connecting a dvi to the back of the computer - blank on the monitor I connected it to.
when booting up, all the time the keyboard lights up leds, but for some odd reason the fans don't spin, maybe its just the laptop like that? can anyone confirm?
any help would be great. thanks :]

i would try booting using hdmi to an external TV screen and if that doesnt work then return it no matter if it said bought as seen as there is more wrong with it than just the screen. use the tv remote to change from tv/satelite to avi1 or avi2
you have tried the shortcut keys havnt you. Fn + F2 turns the backlite off but its worth a try.
Fn + F7 while you are plugged into the external monitor will change to the external screen. when i plug hdmi in it shows on both my lappy and tv and the Fn + F7 switches between the two.
also tell us how much you paid for it and what spec the lappy has got. then we can advise if its worth repairing as it could be the gpu or cpu even though he said he has checked them. if they are faulty then sadly you are talking a lot of wonga.
it could also be the cable ribbon that is lose or faulty but if hes removed the cpu and gpu to test them externally then i guess he would have checked that as well.
did he supply the operating system disc as well as driver disc with it as you can find the user manual on the driver disc.
good luck -
i think the reason maybe cause there is no harddrive xD, and there is no drivers to control those function keys.
i will try to get a harddrive, install os, install driver cd and swap it to my p150em.
i think its worth repairing since i got the laptop for only 600 bucks, and i paid like 400 cause of 200 dollars of ebay bucks WEWT!
the internals are 3610qm, gtx 670m (both were tested and he said were working in another laptop)
if it may be the ribbon cable, how would i check, if there a manual or a way to check it.
I have both the driver c-d and the manual for the p150em.
Also the reseller of the laptop is SPARQ, which i researched and is a korean reseller.
thanks for the help. let me know what i should do next lol. cause honestly i can replace most of the parts and since save a lot. wont matter to me much.
need help with a p150em. wont show anything on boot, lcd is black
