Anyone know what's up? My old gateway connects @300mbps. I have the netgear wndr3700 router.
-
Do you have the latest drivers for it?
-
What type of encription did you use on your router? 300MBps needs to use WPA2, WEP won't work.

No one else has this issue?

It's the first time I've seen a realtek wireless card but that card's maximum bandwidth is 150mbps, not gonna reach 300mbps but either way 72mbps is way too low. It's like only 1 antenna is connected.
-
Same problem with with the same card. Router: Asus RT-N66U. Laptops with Intel's solutions show 144 Mbps. This didn't work for me, but you could try changing your Channels and Channel Bandwidth in your router settings. The Intel-based wireless adapters would not connect at 144 Mbps until I found a fully-functional channel and forced 40 MHz.
Edit: I should note that I live in the middle of nowhere and my activating 40 MHz hurts no one. -

Also, if you want 300mbps, you're going to have to go with the card I have. The one you have only has 2 antenna and has a 150mbps limit. The Bigfoot 1103 I have has 3 antenna and does 300mpbs. Or, wait for the bigfoot 1202, its newer, has the 300mbps AND bluetooth (mine doesn't). It might be out now or is coming out soon. -
Thanks. Checked the antennas already. Both are good.

The 8723AE is, frankly, garbage. I'm sitting 12 feet from my access point and get only 72 mbps with it. Both antennas connected properly.
Installed an Intel 6235 today instead, now I get a consistent 300 mbps. -
Awesome. Where'd you get it it? I'm over this POS that it came with. Does it have 2 or 3 antennas? -
It uses 2 antennas. I wouldn't bother with 3 antenna cards unless your chassis has 3 antennas installed already, mine doesn't.
-
Thanks. Are you sure yours doesn't have 3 antennas? Mine has a third wire tucked away. -
-
Do you have your laptop next to the router?

new 9170 with realtek 8723 only connects @72mbps
