I have been in the market for a new 17" gaming laptop since Xmas, and have already decided to purchase the Sager NP5720 all pimped out (powernotebooks.com, discountlaptops, or pctorque - have to figure out international warranty issues).

I read somewhere on these forums (a few weeks ago, sorry, cant remember!!) a piece of advice that they should 'wait for the new NP-5720 coming out in march.

Its the last day of february today, and i was hoping someone could comment.
Is there a new model coming out? Or just new component options?

I definitely have to order it soon (latest in March), and would be keen on your advice whether to wait a few weeks.

I'd wait as long as possible. I think we should see the dual core 5720 by April, but we'll just have to wait and see.

    aaah
    thx for your replies

Unfortunately I can't wait until April - flying back from the US to Europe by then....

Besides, I think I would rather get the Pent M 760 than the duo core... not a huuuge multitasker, and even when playing games, I would prefer the lower heat/noise of the pentium M series. I dont think the duo technology is as refined yet...

Had actually been hoping for more 'revolutionary' updates to the 5720, that would have warranted waiting until I am back in europe, and paying Euro premiums.

-- should be orderering my monster this or next week :D (probably PC Torque due to international warranty option)...

You wont regret it. Even without the dual core, the 5720 is a marvelous machine. I'm sure you'll love it :)

And if you can wait until the Duo's are on the market, the P-M models will probably come down in price a bit more.
