Hey guys i'm very excited i just ordered from a local premium clevo reseller this new pc:

    SANTECH G49
    - CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 3.60 GHz (QC, 8MB, 65..
    - RAM: 16 GB DDR4 2.400MHz CL14 (2x8.192MB)
    - SSD (M.2): 500 GB Samsung 960 EVO NVMe
    - Disco Rigido: 1.0 TB 7200RPM (buffer 32 MB S.ATA III)
    Display: 17,3" IPS FullHD 1.920x1.080 G-SYNC..
    - Scheda Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8,0 GB GDDR5 (de..
    - Wireless: Killer Dual Band Wireless-AC 1535 (TX/RX..
    - Tastiera: Italiana (IT) - (Estesa, retroilluminata..
    - Sistema Operativo: Windows 10 Home 64bit (NO DVD)

I was wondering, since it's my first clevo machine ( and my first true gaming pc in general) what are the first things i should do as soon as i get it?
Like should i create a ghost backup of windows ? I mean what would be the to do list for dummies.. i read on the forum about this program that would update all drivers in automatic on clevo machines.. is it worth to give it try?
thank you very much for any suggestion!!

    1. Install Windows and Nvidia updates.
    2. Enjoy long hours of gaming until your butt hurts.

What you need is subjective. You can download Win10 and the USB/CD creator from Microsoft so I personally only backup information that is valuable to me like images/videos of my family, school work, etc, and I use the cloud for that stuff.

Congrats on that purchase. That laptop looks like it's going to last you years.

Edit: I've not seen an automated driver update program (haven't looked hard) but my Sager drivers available for my NP8153 are all the same from when I first purchase it. As a result, the only updates I have needed have been for Windows, Nvidia, and Intel display.

The Clevo link I provided contains ALL current models (and yes... it's indeed the long list on the left). You can always send an e-mail to your re-seller or check every model on the list. You already know that your laptop has a 17" screen, so that reduces a lot of laptops... To me it looks like a P775DM?-G... best I can do I"m afraid...

I'll just ask my reseller I guess ... it's hard to say because I could personalize my laptop completely from the graphic card to ram to CPU to killer wireless etc I mean the only standard thing would be the the keyboard and the screen ..idk.. thanks for your help !

Forget the custom part for now :p One step at the time. First you need to know your model, then the tools asks you for your hardware (because indeed, every laptop is different even within models!).

    yes, it's a good configuration imho :)
7700k works hotter than a 7700 and it needs a delid. so good choice!

Higher TDP and clock speeds does add that fair amount of extra heat.

The 7700 is fine :) Certainly for a single GPU.

Hey guys i got my pc.
    i've been doing some testing.
Battlefiled 1 all ultra using the nvidia experience settings ( that disables the limit to gpu memory) and i have around 90 fps with cpu that goes around 84
Ghost recon wildlands , all maxed using nvidia experience settings and i have around 60 with cpu 74 celsius
Are those temps normal? on BF1 they get high but i guess because it's really stressing for the pc? I asked my customer support and they said it's ok

    thank you in advance!!

You're good. BF1 is among the most intensive games out there, and low to mid 80s Celsius is safe.
