I'd suggest you boot it up and check everything's alright, run a stress test to make sure temperatures not ridiculous, make sure drivers and bios are the most recent versions. Make sure the ports work, and ofcourse make sure you were sent the correct laptop configuration.

I tried googling stress test and there were many mixed opinions regard it,some would say it will ruin the laptop and other recommend it, anyhow I would be really grateful if you can recommend to me the programs for stress testing the laptop and a short guide for how to use them and thanks.

if your not too sure what your doing with stress testing (like me) i would just stick to the old faithfuls like benchmarking for now.
run 3dmark06 / 3dmark11 / vantage. also HW Monitor and cpu/gpuz to monitor temperatures. then if something doesnt look right then you think about stress testing.

you can get all the software in my signature below.

3DMark is ok for checking stability with overclocks and such, but it won't tell you much about extended stress conditions. You want to stress your system for an extended period to ensure there's no problem with the hardware under peak temps and performance. That ZD Net article is good, except use MSI Kombustor instead of Furmark. Kombustor is configurable with DirectX and OpenGL, and Furmark can bugger up your system if you use it for extended periods. I usually run Prime95 Large FFT, Kombustor, MemTest86+, and then Prime95 at the same time as Kombustor for ultimate stress test. I wouldn't stress your SSD though with read/write testing because it's just needlessly wasting write cycles, although I will typically run a small CrystalDiskMark performance test.

i'm going to be receiving my np9150 soon and i have no idea how to run the stress tests. is it easy? any specific details when doing it (i.e. how long to keep it running, etc).

also, where can i find the most updated versions for the bios? i only see a thread for the clevo bios but i want to stick with the sager one (unless someone tells me the clevo one is better), cant seem to find it on the sager website.

    sorry for the noob questions.

Make sure you check there is no spyware. Some of the companies install unuseful applications into the laptop which is running and hintting behind the windows application. This will slow your laptop down.

    Do you have Anti-spyware program?

Furmark and Kombustor are both popular and will stress your components beyond what any game will.

you can check this link for how to perform a stress test How to: Stress test your new PC to shake out any faults | ZDNet (BTW it was on the first page of this thread and thank division9 for it) as for the bios best place is your reseller they should have the latest update for the bios just send them an email

Actually I am only using security essential, do you recommend any other?

I will give them a try and thanks

Furmark and Kombustor will stress your GPU more than anything. Prime95 will stress your CPU. Memtest86+ will test/stress your RAM.

For spyware, MSE is great, but I occasionally run Glary Utilities and Malwarebytes Antimalware, both free.
