been out of the loop for a while, so i thought the newest highend 15.6 model from sager/clevo was the 8652 but i read somewhere that there is a newer model. can anyone tell me or direct me to links of this newer model/s? im basically looking for the newest 15.6 that can take the 980m which i believe is the highest end card atm.

P65xSG (BGA) or P15xSM-A (PGA and MXM) or P75xZM (desktop LGA and MXM)

You actually have 3 main options:

NP9752 (Desktop CPU + 980M in MXM, no optical drive)
NP8652 (Mobile soldered CPU + 980M soldered, no optical drive)
NP8258 + NP8268 (Based on same chassis as yours (NP8268 with different looks and an extra 7mm 2.5" bay) with mobile CPU (socket) and 980M in MXM)

Spoiled for choice really, each have their different plus points so go for the one that best fits to your needs.

thanks guys. the 9752 is out of my budget. interesting that they went back to the same chassis as the 8150 for the 8258/68. was there anything wrong with the 8652 chassis? heat issues and all that? kinda important to me since i live in a tropical country.

I don't understand what you mean went back to? The NP8652 and NP82xx series are being sold at the same time and offer different options.

i thought the 82xx were the newer replacement/refresh of the 8651/8652 models. although it seems like the 86xx models are actually the newer iteration.

anyways, are there any heat issues with the 8652?

No they are being offered in parallel, the older design (which does have slightly better cooling) which is a bit heavier and bigger, lets you upgrade/replace the CPU and GPU and comes with the optical drive, or the newer thinner design which is more portable and uses soldered components. It also has IPS and high resolution screen options along with a PCI-E storage option.

thanks for the clarifications meaker. i saw ht's review of the 8652(with a 980m) and the 8258 (with a different gpu). how much better is the cooling of the 82xx series compared to the 8652?

A few degrees better. Nothing huge.
