Very true and just to add to htis some. Just because you have a 64bit processor and OS does not mean it runs everything at 64 bit. The programs have to be complied for it to advantage of it. Most of the OS and CPU now will setup virtual space to run programs that do not run at 64bit to allow the 32 bit applications to run on them. That was one of the problems in switching to 64 bit to start with. It seems also that most software is still 32 bit and not taking advantage of the 64 bit processors out now. Dual core just came in the middle of the development process and has been the most useful so far.

I've notice most of the high end software, those that that will make the most use of the 64 bits utilize the processor, Such as Engineering related software(Calcultions, CAD, ect), any program that requires compiling, Like high end video editing, Programming Software, etc.
However you still have your occasional program like Chronicles of Riddick... -
Yes very true which is way I am running 64 bit OS both for windows and linux. It was a slow process though. But it has gotten much better.
