Do you have an external monitor you can hook up to the laptop? If so, try hooking that up, and then starting the computer. See if you can see anything on the external monitor. Perhaps the LCD or the video card is on the fritz.

could be the graphics card if it cannot output to either laptop or external displays. if you're within warranty, you may need to open a trouble ticket with the vendor which sold you the laptop.

    Try an EC reset:

    1. Shut the computer down
    2. Remove battery and AC adapter
    3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
    4. Reconnect battery and/or AC adapter and power the system on

If still no joy, try reseating your memory, video card, and processor.

"Reseat" is different than "reset". Sorry for confusion on that.

To rese at your memory, just pull it out and reinsert. Sometimes a bad connection - or even failing memory - will cause the computer to not POST. If reinserting your RAM doesn't help, you can try running off of a single stick or swap in some other known working memory to test.

Consider removing and reinserting your CPU and video card as well (you may need to reapply your thermal compound afterwards).

No need when getting to most parts as it's mostly under the main cover with the rest under the keyboard.
