Last night suddenly while I was using my np2090, the display became "broken" with some random colors in some places and being freaked out I turned off the computer. I tried to restart the computer but all i get is the backlight turning on during start up but nothing shows up and this does include the bios diagnostic screens.

I have thought about the possiblity of video card death but that seems extreme or a inverter dying seems odd as well but I would like the opinion of other people. I think it is the cord simply falling out.

    Any help would be appreciated

PS: Does anyone know how to take off the top cover over the keyboard to remove the keyboard and the switch board?

    Thanks,

You can check if its the inverter/display buy hooking up a monitor(and switching the display mode to make sure the picture shows up on the external screen). The random colors and then nothings(no image) sounds more like a GPU issue.

There is a disassembly guide for the notebook here:
http://www.asimobile.com/notebook_files/fl90/IFL90_ch5-Disassembly%20Guide-intel.pdf(if you have a warranty, take it up with the vendor/seller before opening it up).
