So just wondering why the 5792 doesn't have 2 HDD bays? A lot of 17" notebooks now days have 2 bays for HDDs..
-
nop... sorry my friend... we can only put 1 hdd inside..
-
Yes, a lot of 17" notebooks nowadays have more than one bay. The one you would be looking for, is the bigger brother of the 5792, which is the 9262. This one has three bays.
I guess it was in Clevo's best interest to design two laptops that were fairly different from each other. I'm sure size/weight/battery life was more important in the 5792 than having a bit extra space.
200 gigs is plenty to have in a laptop already I think... -
Is it possible to remove the optical bay and replace it with an hdd in the m570ru?
-
like this?
-
To kaltmond:
So did it work?
Where did you get it from?
Thanks,
Dan -
Yes, it works , speed seems to be still ok.
I bought it from asia.
-
MMmmmm 1tera in a external HD -
So wait, does that mean you bought it in Asia, or is that a company that I can't seem to find.
It would be great if it could work with the np579x. It doesn't require a special power adapter in the bottom of the optical bay does it?
Thanks,
Dan -
So...is there any way to replace your optical drive with an hdd?
-
Yes, by using that bay in the photos.
kaltmond, is it for the M571RU? Does it exactly fit inside? Where did you buy it from? -
Well there is still a problem, this is the original plastik come with the smartbay, it has 2 screws, but normaly the slim-cdrom has another way to fix that, so it is not compatible. When u want to use the smartbay and ur original plastik(e.g. for M57XRU) u must do some little Modification to them.
