I have a 1440x900 glossy screen btw.
I'm not sure if this is normal but my np5792 seems to have a lot of light leakage coming from the bottom of the screen covering like 2/3s of the screen upwards. I'm comparing the screen to my old laptop a fujitsu n6460 and the fujitsu has no leakage.. (fujitsu screen is the most beautiful ive seen)
Im looking at the same pic on both and the fujitsu screen is uniform in color saturation and brightness. The np5792 looks like theres way too much brightness or something. Blacks look greyish, I already messed with video settings but it doesn't go away and any changes i make cause the top half look worse. The top half of the screen is fine though.

Any pics?
I would recommend to contact your vendor... for suggestions or possible fixes (tightening/loosening screws and such). -

yeah i dont know whats wrong with eurocom lcd... me and another guy got dead pixel... and you with your light leak... man they send us a bad batch... anyway im sending back my unit for repair (lcd change) and they are supose to test it for 2 days... if they send me another crappy lcd ill ask for a complete refund and buy my unit somewhere else
-
wow that looks pretty bad... either the LCD casing is loose or too tight.
email/msg your vendor with these pics... they should be able to assist you to remedy it, or ship you a new unit if needed. -
Great. Everyone seems to be having LCD problems from Eurocom. I hope I don't get a dud as well. Something I don't get: Do they not test the screens? You would think that one would only have to look at the screen once to say "Oh, there's a dead pixel," or "Look at all that light leakage." Unless they see those things and ship anyway. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the screens get damaged in shipping.
Anyway, I hope mine comes out alright. (Planning on a glossy WUXGA.) -
Order from a quality reseller.
-
Sager? This can happen to anyone, especially since they receive the same LCDs.
-
Guys I have a question: could you get light leakage if you order the matte screen, or is light leakage independent of whether the screen is matte or glossy? I think that each reseller buys their own screens because it seems eurocom has more config options than the resellers. (the 1440x990)

Any screen can get light leakage.

I will not recommend to blame the vendor for light leakage... there is always a statistic on minor issues like this out of each 1000 of units that are sold. Its just fortunate when it happens to you.
The light leakage usually happens to the panel being too loose or tightened.
The "big Clevo 3" of North America (Sager, Pro-Star, Eurocom) are quality and reputable, so I would not worry about them.
