Set environment to Carpeted Hallway, equalizer to soft or none, max volume, update your audio drivers, and remember, it`s a laptop with medium quality INTEGRATED speakers.
They`re sufficient for basic needs, but lack extreme power as some would expect.
Get a good pair of headphones or speakers,as the output is quite stunning.

The speakers on the 5792 unfortunately direct much of their sound energy 90deg from the listener. Do a fun little experiment and cup your hand next to one of the speakers to redirect some of the sound at you. I think you'll find like I did that the perceived output goes up significantly. :) But I'm also with eleron on the headphone thing, in fact my headphone rig probably cost more than my laptop did.

Nope, no joke and mine is pretty middle of the road as far as those things go. I build high-end custom headphone amplifiers (yes, there are such things) as a hobby and a good set of headphones will set you back ~$500 easy.

And not to derail this thread completely but here's a combination speaker/headphone amp that I built recently, it cost the buyer ~$800 and that is not the most expensive one I've built.

The world of high-end audio in general is a pretty scary place, for sure.
