Hello, I finally received my np8150 today but after 30 minutes of opening the box, installing windows 7, installing the drivers from the included disk and then resetting to complete the driver installation, it showed a black screen with some command window about checking direct10X, followed by a mess of scrambled pixels, followed by a continuous black screen. After I reset it again it no longer even shows the sager logo, just straight to a black empty screen eliminating the option of reinstalling windows or starting in safe mode.

    Here are the specs: 2720QM, Ram ~ 8,192MB DDR3 1333MHz, ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD6970, 15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC, 750GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300 - 16MB Cache)

I have sent an email to the reseller but I was wondering if there was something I could try in the meantime since I was very excited about this laptop and it has been immediately snatched from my fingers! I don't expect to get a response from the reseller until Monday.

    Thanks!

Do any of the lights come on when you try to power it up? Do you get any bios beep codes? It's possible you have a faulty GPU by the sound of it.

    I bet its the GPU.
Mine happened the same too(NP8150-S1 with 6970M).
Had to RMA it to Sager and change the GPU.

I was afraid of that, looks like it's going to cost me buying from a US reseller and living in Canada. Yes, some of the LEDs light up, also I still have control of the bluetooth enable function key and turning on/off the max fan function key. Thanks for your help.

If you have a external display you might want to try and see if it outputs to a external display. That would confirm if it is GPU or a display issue.

Looks like it must be the GPU, the external display was also blank.
