1 does the amd 6990m have switchable application based support like the optimus tech from nvidia? and does sager and satori have that support in their 17inch models??

2 do i need to get the 30 day deal pixel warranty? is it worth the 75?

    3. what on earth is color calibration? from xotic pc. its 50 bucks, i m planning to invest in a 27inch 1080p monitor, so do you guys think i could skip 2 and 3? :)

    thanks guys

I would skip 3, but i don't know how important 2 is with this model. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable chimes in. I'd like to know as well.

    1. Yes, technically AMD does have tech to compete with Optimus. It's called "AMD Dynamic Switchable Graphics" and it was only very recently released. It is not currently supported in these models. (Neither is Optimus, unless you are looking at the W150HR models or lower)

    2. The dead pixel warranty guarantees a perfect screen at arrival. Most retailers also offer a 30 day money back guarantee for any reason. The dead pixel guarantee is there so you don't have to claim the latter guarantee (and be out the cost of shipping it back) if there is an issue.

    3. Color calibration is using an external calibration device to make your screen colors print-perfect. That is, the colors that are displayed are 100% true to life. The upgraded screens tend to have a red or blue hue before being calibrated. If you plan to use an external monitor, part 3 makes no difference as it's only for the laptop screen- it won't affect any external display.
