lately I've been fantasizing about ordering the Sager np8660 when it comes out...there's just a few spots on the customization page where I'm not sure what I should choose. For example -
1. The matte type screen is more expensive then the glare type, but for some reason I was under the impression that glare type was better. Am I just wrong in thinking that or is it a matter of personal preference?
2. At what point does the amount of ghz stop making a noticeable difference for gaming? Will 2.40ghz be sufficient for running current and future games?
3. I'm not sure what Intel Robson turbo memory is, but it sounds cool and it's only $45...what are the benefits of this? Are there any drawbacks?
thanks![]()

Turbo memory only works when you have ~1GB of memory so it's useless for most.
I have a glossy screen and I like it.
2.4ghz is more than enough. GPU is the big factor in games. -
im gettin one soon too when everyone gets their first, specs im gettin is p9500 2.53ghz, 9800m gt, 320gb 7200rpm, and 4gb ram the rest is default option, i didnt want turbo memory because not many people saying its useful, so i rather not have and $45 is nothing anyways so dont expect performance out of that, and i dont want my computer doing something i dont want it to, thats what turbo memory will do - my total is about $2100

glossy vs matte...no one of these is "better" then the other. it all just depends on personal preferences and the conditions in which the laptop will be used.
glossy = better and more vibrant colors
matte = no glare, used better outside, etc.
my personal opinion why matte is more expensive is because the sager notebook(s) are the only few lines left that come with matte screens - so they get the luxury of charging more for it since customers who want/need matte dont have much other choices. or it might just be the fact that the matte screen is better then the glossy screen resolution wise, thus more expensive, i dont know since u didnt mention the specific specs. -

yea the matte actually is a higher resulution and is wuxga as opposed to the wsxga+ on the glossy. There's a 145 dollar price difference so I can only assume wuxga is far better than wsxga+
