I tried running np8662 with and without the realtek hd audio 2.30 installed. Without it the volume was louder and there was less noise in the sound. Was the driver just not configured properly?

I have my audio setting to "carpeted hallway" and it sounds quite good. Can you try that setting and see if it still sounds better disabled??? im too lazy...

does the mic work without these drivers?
also, does anyone see any point in having realtek hd audio software (the one that lets you select between carpeted hallway, tunnel, or bathroom) installed?
