    warning: possible dumb question...

If I wanted to have an SLI configuration at some point in the future with this rig, would it just be a matter of getting another 9800GTX (matching video card) and a bridge and installing it? Or would this be something that would have to be done by Sager?

I have no idea how the 9800M GTX will be handled, but I can tell you how the 8800M GTX upgrade worked:

Sager provided a user upgrade kit that included simple instructions, the new card already mounted in its heatsink, a bridge cable, and bios/vbios updates on a DVD. With reasonable attention to detail, the installation was easy.

Not yet, I am hoping by Friday. So, in the mean time I am just reading about it and thinking up questions as I go along - keeps me occupied while I wait :)

Wait until you open the back of this thing. The heat disposal system has so much copper in it you'll think you've stumbled into a copper mine. :)

I am not an expert and what i am about to stay is speculation. But since no info whatsoever about SLI is out, there is a possibility of a motherboard upgrade......
So its not a 100% guaranteed thing, it is likely but not 100% guaranteed.
Thats why i am holding off for anther month or 2. I would hate that i pay 5000$ and then find out that i can't upgrade my laptop to best available graphics solution and that at same price i can get a 9800 GT SLI which should perform better than one 9800 M GTX

Possiblity on the mobo. I was thinking if it supported 9800 GT sli now, it would probably support 9800gtx. But I am just speculating here too as I know nothing of the intricacies of hardware compatibility and all.

As far as the 9800 GT SLI vs 9800 GTX single, I am real curious to get some benchmarks. The GTs only have 512, and the GTX has 1gb. Not sure if that will effect marks much but I am curious. Unfortunately, unless it is done on a same spec'd machine, it wont tell us a whole lot. Maybe when mine comes in, I can post and see if someone with same spec but with 9800 GT SLI can do same benchys.

Yes do that as soon as it comes in, I also was considering getting a single GTX but really wanted Sli but it was and is still not available in SLI. Yet!
I settled for the dual 9800M GT's and so far the laptop exceeded my expectations.
I know we will probably see the GTX in Sli soon but how soon no one knows, the single GTX is just starting to ship!
I really needed and wanted a new gaming laptop quick and this was the best option for me.
Also the single GTX is pretty expensive know, I could just imagine how $$ it would cost as a option, probably big bucks.
So post some numbers a soon as you get it for some comparisons.

I wouldnt knock your machine. Its a beast. I waffled back and forth with getting the sli vs the single gtx. The main reason I ended up with the single is primarily to avoid any sli issues. I have had bad experience in past fighting (and losing) trying to get sli working. But that was probably my previous machines issues more that mine? I really hate having to deal with hardware problems - I'm the type that just likes things to work. But I think my choice of sager probably eliminated most incompatibilities/problems just because they appear to just be better machines.
