I’m a huge fan of Sager / Clevo laptops but I always put in a ton of research before I drop a lot of cash on a laptop so I apologize if I ask questions already covered. I’ve gone though many of the reviews but they seem to be unboxings and first impressions. For the folks that have been using the np9570 for a while is there anything to watch out for? If I get the i7-3970x CPU and a single GTX 780M GPU will I need the extra AC adapter and Power converter box? Has anyone encountered any heat related issues? Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi han891,
Welcome to NBR or congrats on your first post, whichever is more accurate :)
The second AC Adapter for the most part is only needed if you have dual video cards, an extreme CPU, and doing very demanding things like overclocking or running two benchmarks programs at the same time. For regular use a single one is fine.

Hopefully some owners will jump in with their impressions, in the mean time check out the owners lounge http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...570wm-p570wm3-sager-np9570-owners-lounge.html.

Hey there) It was already mentioned that 3970x struggles to run even at full stock speeds due to overheating and power consumptions. So your best bet will be 3930K and save for another 780M, of course. With unlocked Prema bios and custom svl7 vbios that's a beast!!! At stock clocks you're looking at 360-370W consumption at MAX in benches and games. So no room for OC at all, but single PSU csn handle that for sure.

If you want to OC CPU to 4.2Ghz and GPU's to 1Ghz core and up - dual PSU is needed) Don't forget to use 4 ram chips
