AVADirect's base price seems already higher than other resellers/builders, you might find it much cheaper when the GTX 680M are available at XoticPC/MALIBAL or other resellers/builders you name it.

They're claiming a 50% improvement of the 680m over the 580m, how big is the improvement of the 7970m over the 580m on average?

In benchmarks HD 7970M performs on par with the GTX 680M, but in some demandings games like battlefield 3 (47 fps vs 34 fps), or metro 2033 (56 fps vs 26 FPS), the GTX 680M is much better.

    50%. How predictable.

Probably $800. The 670m is $200, but you couldn't sell a used one for that much.

of course selling at the same price as new makes no sense...
i have a GTX560M and +600€ is a lot of cash for a gfx card.. but i don't want an AMD card.

i'll wait a bit for availability and more information on the 680M.. meanwhile i'll be switching my P150 HM chassis for an P150 EM one ^^
